Today’s “Word of the Day” is buckle (under) and it is a phrasal verb meaning “to surrender (or mentally collapse) to the pressure or stress; to accept something unwillingly due to the pressure; give in, yield, capitulate, succumb, knuckle under”.

Example Sentence: One of India’s greatest footballers, Sunil Chhetri reveals he was under so much pressure while playing in Kolkata early in his career that he cried many times and even contemplated quitting the sport. It was a big challenge and he buckled under pressure at times.
