  2. Index of Industrial Production (IIP) (noun) – a composite (combined/complex) indicator that measures the changes in the volume of production of a basket of industrial products during a given period with respect to the volume of production in a chosen base period.

  28. sequentially (adverb) – in succession, successively, continuously.
  29. broadly (adverb) – in general, on the whole, commonly, generally.
  30. small-ticket (noun as modifier) – having a relatively low price; inexpensive. 
  31. fell past tense of fall (verb) – decrease, decline, lessen, drop, slump, plummet.
  32. perhaps (adverb) – maybe, possibly.
  33. quarter (noun) – a period of three months (considered as one-fourth of a year).
  34. lift (verb) – raise, increase, improve, buoy up.
  35. weigh in (phrasal verb) – to have influence (in a decision/discussion/plan/argument/activity); be important to, carry weight, make an impression on, make a contribution to.
  36. central bank (noun) – the banking regulator of a county’s banking system. (e.g. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is the central bank of India).
  37. Gross domestic product (GDP) (noun) – a measure of economic activity in a country. It is the total value of a country’s annual output of goods and service.

  41. asymmetry (noun) – non-uniformity, unevenness, lopsidedness, imbalance, disproportion; disconnectedness, disunity, discordance, incoherence, disorganization.
  42. fork in the road (phrase) – (figuratively) a deciding moment/point where a decision, one of two possibilities, has to be made.
  43. lie (verb) – exist, be located, be present, be situated.
  44. by/in contrast (phrase) – when compared to another.
  45. resilient (adjective) – able to recover quickly from difficulties/problems, quick to bounce back; adaptable, flexible; strong, sturdy.

  58. volatility (noun) – unpredictability, instability, unreliability.
  59. tide (noun) – movement; trend, tendency, course of events.
  60. ebb (verb) – diminish, decrease, fade away, disappear; it also means recede, retreat, flow back, go out.
  61. fragile (adjective) – vulnerable, risky, unreliable, insecure.
  62. watch (verb) – observe, follow, monitor, look at, keep an eye on.
