Today’s “Phrase of the Day” is wipe off the face of the earth and its meaning is “to eliminate, remove or destroy (someone or something) completely”.

For when it reopens, it will no longer look the same. It’s like the botanical equivalent of the Taj Mahal being wiped off the face of earth. For it to look the way it did until May 20, it could take another 200 years.
