Today’s “Phrase of the Day” is “bear the brunt” and its meaning is “to suffer or endure the worst part of something (force/burden/pressure) when a very bad or unpleasant thing happens”.
Example Sentence: It seems nothing short of wicked that some of the most vulnerable children in the country are being forced to bear the brunt of the past decade of spending cuts, while private companies pocket inflated profits from running children’s homes and foster agencies.
