  1. pivot (noun) – centre/focus, focal point, cornerstone.
  2. precede (by) (verb) – foregoing, prior/former, precursory.
  3. quadrilateral (noun) – (in this context) a group with four countries.
  4. moot (verb) – put forward, propose, suggest (an idea).
  5. pertain (verb) – concern, relate to, be connected with.
  6. maritime (adjective) – of or related to the sea.
  7. prudent (adjective) – cautious, careful, farsighted.
  8. vow (verb) – swear, promise, guarantee.
  9. set the stage for (phrase) – prepare the circumstances for beginning of something.
  10. juncture (noun) – point, time/moment, stage.
  11. tailwinds (noun) – (in business) it describes a situation or condition that will move growth, revenues, or profits higher. Headwinds is a situations or conditions that make growth harder/difficult.
