Word List-1 (To improve Vocabulary)

  1. destined for (adjective) – intended for, meant, heading.
  2. concede (verb) – admit, acknowledge, accept/ recognize.
  3. moot (verb) – put forward, propose, suggest (an idea).
  4. no wonder (phrase) – it is not surprising.
  5. put together (phrasal verb) – assemble, organize, arrange.
  6. resonance (noun) – the quality that makes emotions, memories & etc.
  7. at the mercy of (phrase) – in the power of, in the control of, under the control of.
  8. prop up (phrasal verb) – support, aid/assist, bolster.
  9. confabulation (noun) – discussion, discourse, conversation.
  10. have in mind (phrase) – think of, contemplate, intend.
  11. of course (phrase) – naturally, certainly, absolutely.
  12. antipathy (noun) – hostility, hatred, hate/aversion.
  13. depart from (verb) – deviate, diverge, drift.
  14. irrelevant (adjective) – unimportant, insignificant, immaterial/unconnected.
  15. pretence (noun) – outward appearance, display, impression, image (mostly false),
  16. by all accounts (phrase) – supposedly, apparently, seemingly.
  17. non-committal (adjective) – careful, circumspect, reserved/diplomatic.
  18. hastily (adverb) – quickly, hurriedly, swiftly/rapidly.
