- artificial intelligence (AI) (noun) – an area of computer science that deals with giving machines the ability to seem like they have human intelligence.
- deep fake (noun) – deepfakes are videos and images that have been digitally manipulated to depict people saying and doing things that never happened. Most deepfakes use artificial intelligence to alter video and to generate authentic-sounding audio. These clips are often produced to fool viewers and are optimized to spread rapidly on social media. A “deep fake” is a video that has been altered through some form of machine learning to “hybridize or generate human bodies and faces”.
