  1. ties (noun) – association, relationship, bond, connection.

  30. Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU or EEU) (noun) – It is an ambitious project for economic integration in the former Soviet region. Its formal objectives are to create a common market much like the European Union (EU). It consists of five member states: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia.
  31. free trade (noun) – a policy to eliminate barriers/limits/regulations against imports and exports.
  32. Free Trade Agreement (FTA) (noun) – an agreement between two or more countries designed to reduce or eliminate certain barriers to trade and investment, and to facilitate stronger trade and commercial ties between participating countries.

  36. BRICS countries (plural noun) – the acronym coined to associate five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The BRICS members are known for their significant influence on regional affairs.
  37. Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) (noun) – The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a permanent intergovernmental international organisation, the creation of which was announced on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai (China). The SCO currently comprises eight Member States (China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) and is seen as a counterweight to NATO (The North Atlantic Treaty Organization). It was established as a multilateral association to ensure security and maintain stability across the vast Eurasian region, join forces to counteract emerging challenges and threats, and enhance trade, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
  38. hydrocarbon (noun) – hydrocarbons are molecules of carbon and hydrogen in various combinations. Natural gas and crude oil are mixtures of different hydrocarbons. In the fossil fuel industries, hydrocarbon refers to naturally occurring petroleum, natural gas and coal, or their hydrocarbon derivatives and purified forms.

  47. decade (noun) – a period of ten years.

  50. Pannun investigation (noun) – it is an investigation relating to the U.S. indictment of an Indian national for an assassination plot against wanted Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, allegedly directed by an Indian government official.

  52. impasse (noun) – deadlock, stalemate, checkmate, stand-off.
  53. standoff (noun) – deadlock, stalemate, impasse (in a dispute/conflict).
  54. bonhomie (noun) – friendliness, warmth, geniality/affability.

  58. Rupee-Rouble system (noun) – Indian and Russian industries are making transactions and payment in trade relations via Rupee-Rouble (exchange) method instead of using dollars for transactions. (Rouble is the currency of the Russian Federation).

  60. expedite (verb) – accelerate, speed up, step up, quicken.
  61. geopolitical (adjective) – relating to (the study of) the geographical factors (a country’s position on the earth, size, climate, and natural resources &, etc.) in world politics and inter-state relations.
  62. strategic (adjective) – relating to achieving long-term or overall goals.
  63. convergence (noun) – merging, coming together, mingling; concurrence, confluence.  
  64. multipolar (adjective) – having many extremities.
  65. votary (noun) – a devoted follower of someone or something; adherent, supporter, advocate, champion, disciple.
  66. critic (noun) – criticizer, censurer, castigator, attacker, fault-finder.
