Today’s word list-2 for The Hindu Editorial (Huff and e-puff) – Aug 14, 2018:

  1. huff and puff (adjective) – breathe loudly (in anger or annoyance).
  2. public interest litigation (PIL) (noun) –  legal action initiated in a court of law for the enforcement or protection of public interest.
  3. combustible cigarettes (noun) -a tobacco product that is designed to be smoked by burning it.
  4. aerosol (noun) – mixture, mix, compound (in liquid format in a container).
  5. toxic tar (noun) – asphalt/tar like substance formed by burning tobacco.
  6. carcinogen (noun) – a substance/compound that can cause cancer.
  7. formaldehyde (noun) – formaldehyde is a simple chemical compound made of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon.   18. therapeutic (adjective) – healing, curing, remedial.
  19. tough call (phrase) – a difficult choice or judgement to make.
