  1. underlie (verb) – be the fundamental, be the asic, be the cause of.

  3. active euthanasia (noun) – it occurs when the medical professionals, or another person, deliberately do something (applying a lethal drug or substance) which causes a patient to die when his/her health condition is beyond cure and irreversible.
  4. advance directive or living will (noun) – written statement regarding an unconscious patient’s medical treatment based on that particular patient’s own desire provided when he/she was of sound mind, as the patient could not provide “informed consent” after going into coma.
