  1. mark (verb) – represent, signify, indicate.
  2. peninsula (noun) – an area of land almost surrounded by water (on three sides) and one side attached to the mainland.

  16. embrace (verb) – take up, adopt; involve.
  17. defuse (verb) – reduce, lessen, diminish.
  18. conducive (adjective) – favourable, beneficial, advantageous.
